Berenstain Bears was a Saturday morning cartoon based on the popular children's softcover book series by Stan and Jan Berenstain. Running on two episodes per show, the season included 52 11-minute episodes. The series lasted 3 seasons, but was continued in January 2003 with a fourth season on PBS.

Based entirely on the book series, the Berenstain Bears: Papa [Brian Cummings], Mama [Ruth Buzzi], Brother [David Mendenhall] and Sister [Christina Lange] Bear lived in Bear County, run by Mayor Honeypot [Brian Cummings]. Each episode was purposely written to convey a particular message to teach children a certain value. They ranged from cleaning your room, nottalking to strangers, wrongfully judging people, lying, and keeping your temper calm, to name a few.

Frank Welker voiced the "bad guys" of the series, namely Raffish Ralph, Weasel McGreed and the henchweasels.

Sony Pictures released various episodes of the Berenstain Bears on DVD.
