In the near future, science and technology is highly advanced and
Earth finds itself in danger from alien encounters. CIA agent Jack
Bennet and family, while on vacation in the Himalayas are trapped
in snow after an encounter with a hostile alien race. In response,
the brilliant Professor Sharp creates bionics and fits them to the
Bennet family per Jack's request. When slamming their rings into
their specialized cufflinks, they become the superpowered Bionic
Six.
Led
by father Jack Bennet [Norman Bernard], better known as Leader-1,
Jack has the ability of super vision and hearing. His wife, Helen
Bennet [Carol Bilger], known as Mother-1, is an oceanographer who
can create holograms to confuse enemies as well as envoke clairvoyent
powers. Sport-1, who'se real name is Eric Bennet [Hal Rayle], is
the second oldest son who is a baseball star and harnesses magnetic
power, alongside his bat weapon. J.D. Bennet, known simply as I.Q.
[Norman Bernard], is an experienced boxer with super strength, and
also relies on his intellect. Meg Bennet [Bobbie Block] is a punk
rocker chick who has super speed and shoulder mounted lasers. Lastly,
Bunjiro 'Bunji' Bennet or Karate-1 [Brian Tochi] is the youngest
of the group, is a martial artist. Notably, their "pet"
is F.L.U.F.F.I [Neil Ross], a mechanical gorilla created by Sharp.
Professor
Sharp, who has given the Bionic Six their technological upgrades,
is the brother of their arch nemesis Dr. Scarab [Jim MacGeorge],
an evil scientst in search of eternal life, who uses advanced technology
to commit crime. Scarab's henchmen (and women) include Glove [Frank
Welker] with his finger mounted guns, Chopper [Frank Welker], Mechanic
[Frank Welker], and Madame-O [Jennifer Darling], a ruthless pursuer
of power and wealth.
The
series was cut short after one year, spanning two seasons. Fittingly,
the final episode was entitled "That's All, Folks!"
