Centurions was an animated science fiction show that ran in syndication. Its introduction was a 5-episode series, which followed up with an additional 60 episodes, spanning two series.

In a futuristic setting, a trio of defenders known as the Centurions wear special exo-frame suits to help them defend earth against Doc Terror [Ron Feinberg] and his cyborg sidekick Hacker [Ed Gilbert, Alan Oppenheimer]. They are: Air Operations Specialist Ace McCloud [Neil Ross], Sea Operations Specialist Max Ray [Pat Fraley] and Land Operations Specialist Jake Rockwell [Vince Edwards]. Based in their station, Skyvault, the Centurions were beamed down to their new missions by Crystal Kane [Diane Pershing], who was always accompanied by her pet orangutan Lucy. With a chant of "Power Extreme!", their gear fused with exo-frame armor, and the Centurions rushed to battle.

Later in the series, two more Centurions joined the team: Energy Operations Specialist Rex Charger [Robert Ridgely] and Infiltration Operations Specialist John Thunder [Michael Bell].

Each episode of Centurions concluded with a quick science lesson or tidbit of info, similar to that of the cartoon series Silverhawks.

Approximately the same size as G.I. Joe figures, Kenner's Centurions toys distinctly featured the characters with Lego-like pegs on their suits that could attach a weapon or other item to it. The figures included Max, Jake and Ace, along with Doc Terror, Hacker, and other lesser villains.

Marvel comics released a short comic book series of the Centurions.
