Chip & Dale's Rescue Rangers was a weekday afternoon animated series
and a segment of the Disney Afternoon. Featuring the two classic
Chip and Dale characters from the 1940s, this new series introduced
a handful of new characters and first aired on the Disney Channel
in 1989.
A
group of tiny heroes known as the Rescue Rangers scurry around to
stop evil mastermind Professor Nimnul from his plans of world domination.
Composed of theh headstrong sleuth and leader Chip [Tress MacNeille],
the clumsy Hawaiian-shirt wearing dope Dale [Corey Burton], their
burly cheese-obscessed friend Monterey Jack [Jim Cummings] and his
green colored fly companion Zipper [Corey Burton], along with skilled
engineer and only female character Gadget [Tress MacNeille], the
Rangers recover stolen goods, rescue captives and avoid the treachery
of the suave yet diabolical Fat Cat [Jim Cummings] and his goons
Wart (a lizard), Mole (a mole) and Snout (a rat). Their other enemy
is the nerdy looking scientist Professor Norton Nimbnull and his
obnoxious little nephew, Normie.

its early 90's cartoon lineup, which aired early afternoon on weekdays.

Capcom produced a successful Nintendo Entertainment System platform
game of Chip `n Dale's Rescue Rangers in 1990, and a sequel three
years later. Within the two games, the 1st player was Chip, and
2nd player Dale, as they scrolled through gigantic-sized worlds
from their own perspective, as the player could pick up and hurl
crates and rocks as weapons, or to find items. A third game was
later released for the PC.
Disney
Comics released a 19-comic book series in 1990 of this series.
