Defenders of the Earth was a weekday afternoon animated superhero
series produced by Marvel Productions and King Features Syndicate.
Set
in the year 2015, classic comic book heroes Flash Gordon [Lou Richards]
and his team of defenders, including The Phantom [Peter Mark Richman],
Mandrake the Magician [Peter Renaday] and Lothar [Buster Jones]
battle intergalactic villain Ming the Merciless [William Callaway].
Alongside the defenders are their own sons and daughters: Flash
Gordon's son Rick Gordon [Loren Lester], The Phantom's daugter Jedda
Walker [Sarah Partridge], and Kshin [Adam Carl], Mandrake's adopted
son.
