Dinosaucers was a Saturday morning animated series about an alien race of intellicent dinosaurs who travel to Earth, befriend several teenagers and battle their adversaries, the Tyrannos. Four ordinary teenagers: Paul [Richard Yearwood], Ryan [Simon Reynolds], Sera [Barbara Lynn Redpath] and David [Leslie Toth], witness the touch down of an alien ship, and meet a group of dinosaur-like alien visitors known as Dinosaucers. Fleeing their homeworld Reptilon, this group is based in the dormant volcano (dubbed the "Lava Dome") and is led by Allo [Len Carlson] include dopey yet kindhearted Bonehead [Marvin Goldhar], leather-clad Tricero [Rob Cowan], cowardly Steggio [Ray Kahnert], the sole female of the crew, Pteryx [Edie Mirman], water dwelling Ichthyo [Thick Wilson], the massive Bronto-Thunder [Marvin Goldhar] and mask-wearing Dimetro [Chris Wiggins].

Their adversaries, led by Genghis Rex [Dan Hennessey] included a team of misfits who were almost identical in species of their individual Dinosaucer counterparts, located in a secret base below a tar pit. They included Genghis Rex' sniveling servant Anklyo [John Stocker], the obnoxious Quackpot [Len Carlson] memorable for his constant "quaaaack quack" between words, muscular Styraco [Gordon Masten], Plesio [Dan Hennessey] the water dwelling dino, Brachio [Don McManus] the statuesque counterpart of Bronto-Thunder, and the flying spy resembling the Red Baron with an English accent: Terrible Dactyl [John Stocker].
