The Flintstone Kids was an early Saturday morning cartoon series featuring child versions of the popular Flintstone animated series, and their exploits at school...basically an attempted re-hash of the Flintstone cartoon series, which included all of the traditional characters, but as elementary schoolers: Freddy Flintstone [Scott Menville] and his puppy Dino, Barney Rubble [Hamilton Camp], Wilma Slaghoople [Elizabeth Lyn Fraser], Betty Jean [B.J. Ward] and teacher Miss Rockbottom [B.J. Ward]. New characters created just for the series included the spoiled and rich Dreamchip Gemstone [Susan Blu] with her butler Cragmeyer, and the bully Rocky Ratrock.

Episodes were shown as segments, sometimes aired as three segments of cartoons in one half-hour show. Additionally, shorts such as "Dino's Dilemmas" and "Captain Caveman & Son" made appearances (the latter of the two being a superhero that Freddy and Barney looked up to).
