Emerging from several TV specials in the 80s, this popular animated series would rotate several segments in each sitting - starting with that of the lasagna loving, wise-cracking Garfield [Lorenzo Music], his dim-witted pal Odie [Gregg Berger] and homeowner John Arbuckle [Thom Huge]. Other characters included the small blue cat Nermil [Desirée Goyette] who idolized Garfield, and the somewhat creepy local figure, Binky the Clown [Thom Huge].

The second segment, named U.S. Acres, featured a barnyard of characters including Orson the pig [Gregg Berger], the cowardly Wade Duck [Howard Morris] whose likeness was featured on the pool toy he wears (which also changes facial expressions as he does), Roy[Thom Huge] the rooster and his corny jokes, Booker [Frank Welker] the chick and his adversary earthworm, Sheldon [Frank Welker] whose voice was muffled due to the fact that he still couldn't hatch out of his egg, and the two sheep with personality conflicts: Bo [Frank Welker] and Lanolin [Julie Payne]. This group watched over the farm from Orson's oversized bully brothers.

20th Century Fox released the "Garfield and Friends" DVD set in 2004.
