Feeding into the WWF mania in the mid 1980s, this series was a mix of live-action and cartoon segments. Beginning with a live-action introduction, usually hosted by WWF announcer "Mean" Gene Okerlund, a short live-action production commenced and followed up with an animated series that did not use voice talents of the actual wrestlers.

Main character Hulk Hogan [voiced by Brad Garrett] and his team of good guys: Junkyard Dog [voiced by James Avery], Andre the Giant [voiced by Ron Feinberg], Hillbilly Jim [voiced by Pat Fraley], Tito Santana [voiced by Joey Pento], and Wendy Richter [voiced by Jodi Carlisle], have various adventures in crimefighting, treasure hunting and do-gooding, but adversary "Rowdy" Roddy Piper [voiced by Charlie Adler] and gang, including Nikolai Volkoff [voiced by Ronald Gans], The Iron Sheik [voiced by Aron Kincaid], Big John Studd [voiced by Chuck Licini], Bobby "The Brain" Heenan [voiced by Aron Kincaid], Mr. Fuji [Ernest Harada] and female brute The Fabulous Moolah [voiced by Jodi Carlisle], all tried to foil their plans or outdo them in every conceivable competition, but always wound up failing.

During its original airing, Hulk would make an occasional live-action appearance for comic relief purposes.

Home VHS episodes of Hulk Hogan's Rock 'N Wrestling have been long out of print. Talks concerning a full series release on DVD were rumored in the early 2000s, but never materalized.

  • You might recognize Hulk Hogan's voice as that of 'Raymond's' brother 'Robert' from "Everybody Loves Raymond" - they are the same person.
