This extremely short-lived series was about 19-year old Jayce [Darrin Baker], leader of the Lightning League: consisting of smuggler and former pirate Herc Stormsailer [Len Carlson], Flora [Valerie Politis], a young girl and plant hybrid with her flying fish named Brock, an old magician named Gillian [Charles Jolliffe] who was a longtime friend of Jayce's father, and Oon [Luba Goy], an animated, cowardly suit of armor who acts as Jayce's squire. Jayce seeks to find his lost father Audric [Dan Hennessey], who will help him reunite a root experiment and destroy the Monster Mind enemies for good. Jayce also possesses the Ring of Light, a defensive weapon given to him by Gillian.

Audric, a biologist who dabbled in genetics, had created Flora through an experiment. A solar flare caused his other experiment to mutate into hideous creatures, which became known as the Monster Minds.

Their enemies, the Monster Minds, are a relentless group of alien creatures who can change their form into a plant/vehicle hybrid for battle. Among the Monster Minds were their leader Saw Boss [Guilio Kukurugya] - a creature created from radiation who has telepathic powers and turns into a vehicle with a massive buzzsaw attachment, Gun Grinner [John Stocker] who turns into a beastly tank with a four-sphered flail on its roof, Terror Tank [Len Carlson] with a snarling, snake-like plant stalk growing out of his roof, K-O Cruiser [Dan Hennessey] with a massive boulder-like attachment at the end of a plant stalk, and the massive Beast Walker, the only four-legged Monster Mind. All of the Monster Minds have a visible green brain which rests in the cockpit of their vehicle, after changing forms.

Wheeled Warriors!

Currently being researched.
Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors spawned an interesting toy series from Mattel, which preceeded the cartoon series. It featured all of the characters and vehicles from the animated series, with their unique weapons, plastic brains, interchangeable parts, and addon packages. The distinct feature of the vehicles were their shiny golden wheel imprints. Released in 1984, the toys lost a degree of connection to the cartoon, therefore, resulting in its demise. The cartoon series suffered as a result, scrapping plans for a Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors movie, or any closure to the series whatsoever.
