Half live-action, half animation and composed of two segments: Hero High and Shazam!, this short-lived series was produced by Filmation Associates.

Hero High: Composed of (25) episodes, this was the first segment of the show, and the premise was a high school of super-powered kids learning how to become superheroes. They are made up of: Captain California [Christopher Hensel], Glorious Gal [Rebecca Perle], Misty Magic [Jere Fields], Mighty Isis, AWOL, The Weatherman [Jim Greenleaf], Peter Penguin, Lil Sumo, Bratman, Captain Walla Walla, Kangaroo Ken, and Punk Rock [Johnny Venocour] with his boomerang guitar - and antagonists Dirty Trixie [Maylo McCaslin] and Rex Ruthless [John Berwick]. All actors would appear in live-action, costume-donning form, to sing a new song each week.

Shazam!: The second segment, totalling (13) episodes, revolves around a boy named Billy Batson [Burr Middleton] who turned into superhero "Captain Marvel" when uttering the word "Shazam." Along with superhero sister Mary [Dawn Jeffory], the two returned back to normal once they uttered the word again. Occasionally, characters from Hero High were featured in this series.
