Through a massive 7 series, 107 episodes, and winning the Humanitas
Prize, Muppet Babies was a Jim Henson production featuring his classic
Muppet characters as toddlers who used their imaginations to keep
them occupied all day. Each episode featured a story told (or argued)
amongst the muppets, with a multitude of actual movie footage that
ranged from Star Wars, Beetlejuice and Ghostbusters to vintage,
black-and-white silent films.
The
Muppets featured were main character Kermit [Frank Welker], his
overly-aggressive pursuant Piggy [Laurie O'Brien], Kermit's awful
joke telling pal, Fozzie [Greg Berg], big-nosed Gonzo [Russi Taylor],
piano-playing Rowlf [Katie Leigh], the rambunctious Animal [Howie
Mandel], Bunsen [Dave Coulier] the child prodigy, his incoherent
hypochondriac assistant Beaker [Frank Welker], as well as brother
and sister pair Scooter [Greg Berg] and Skeeter [Howie Mandel].
The Muppets were adopted by Nanny [Barbara Billingsley], who'se
likeness (beyond her green and white striped sock covered feet)
was never shown throughout the entire series.
